Greetings from Women Aligned for Growth (WAG)!
We are pleased to invite you to be part of an innovative initiative designed to empower women through organic agro-cultivation, promote access to nutritious food, and create sustainable income-generating opportunities.
The WAG Women Organic SAC Sweet Potato Ashoebi Agro-Cultivation Pilot Initiative, organised by WAG Multipurpose Cooperative Society in collaboration with the WAG Vulnerable Women and Youth Empowerment Committee, seeks to demonstrate how agriculture can become a practical pathway to women’s economic empowerment and stronger communities.
At WAG, we believe that what we grow and what we eat matter. We also believe that women should have opportunities to participate in productive ventures that promote self-reliance, improve livelihoods and contribute to healthier families.
🌱 WHAT IS THE INITIATIVE ABOUT?
The project will commence with a pilot group of 20 women and explore opportunities in organic sweet potato cultivation, with a proposed Organic Food Bank and off-taker model to aggregate produce for supply to identified buyers.
The initiative aims to:
✅ Create opportunities for women to generate income through agriculture.
✅ Promote organic and regenerative farming practices.
✅ Encourage access to nutritious, responsibly cultivated food.
✅ Build women’s capacity for self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
✅ Explore sustainable markets for agricultural produce.
✅ Contribute to food security and community development.

Participation in the pilot is subject to understanding the project requirements and agreeing to the applicable terms and costs.
